The Champ Clark Bridge was built in 1928.  The bridge is named after James Beauchamp Clark, a former Speaker of the House for U.S. Congress from 1911 to 1919, who was originally from Bowling Green, Missouri.  Clark's term as Speaker spanned eight years from 1911 to 1919.  To find out more about the history of the Champ Clark bridge visit: Champ Clark Bridge Wikipedia
